Gumby Creator Art Clokey passed away on Friday, January 8th 2010 at the age of 88. The character was best known for the stop-motion-animated TV show, but it also inspired comics, including two Eisner Award winners. Clokey also created Davey and Goliath. Clokey created Gumby in the early 50s; the first exposure for the character was on the Howdy Doody Show. He voiced Gumby’s sidekick Pokey in some episodes.
