Pierre Morel, director of the 2009 hit "Taken", has signed a deal to direct a remake of Dune, according to Variety. Morel replaces Peter Berg, who had originally been working on a Dune pic, but change to directing to the Battleship film after the Writer's strike. The upcoming Dune film is reported to be a remake of The 1984 David Lynch Dune film instead of another treatment of the classic Frank Herbert novel.
